Description

The Jungle Cruise is an irreverant journey through through the jungle on a river boat. It is located next to Pirates of the Carribean.

Disneyland

At Disneyland, the ride is located between the Tiki Juice Bar and Tarzan's Treehouse.

Entrance

You enter in a grotto and there are two lines, one for normal entry and the other for FastPass.

Line

The line does the usual snake thing, and is located underneath a shed that has been made to look like an outfitters shack in the jungle. There are items hanging from the rafters that would be appropriate for an expedition into the jungle. Also of note are the announcements being made over the PA system. If you pay attention you will note that there is a strong similarity in these announcements to the ones that were made in the movie M*A*S*H. When you are ushered onto the ride, pay attention to what the boat captain says, as they will state that you should not cross over the median of the boat where the actual diesel motor is located. Please follow their directions in getting around the boat.

Riding the Ride

Once the ride starts, the captain of the boat will go into their speech. It is truly an irreverant speech, but definately pay attention to what they are saying because that is what makes the ride that much more fun. The ride takes you on a twisting path through the jungle, where you will see animatronic crocodiles, hippos, and elephants, along with a couple of sets of native tribes. Towards the end you will also go through a cave network. If it is later in the day (nighttime) and the captain is feeling a bit frisky, at the end they will turn off the lights and it will be quite dark. At this point they may start whistling or singing "it's a small world", and really it is better if you simply join in than to groan, because those around you will be groaning in despair.

Exiting the Ride

You exit the ride just upstream from where you enter the ride, and leave the area quite close to where you entered it. Off to the right side of your exit will be a place where you can operate some remote control boats in a pond.

Opinion

This is a fun ride as long as you can deal with some really corny jokes. The boat captains have been doing it for a while, and are witty enough to take all kinds of bad jokes coming at them.
