Description

The name pretty much says it all here. This is a ride in which you get to drive your own Indy racecar around a track. Yes, the car is really just a go-kart, and the track is railed so that you can really just get away with putting your foot on the gas and letting it go around on its own, but it is a hit with the kids.

Entrance

The entrance to this ride is located in TomorrowLand, at the back of Stitch's Great Escape. It is pretty easy to see as it is a ride that takes up a lot of real estate. At the front there is a mock-up of a real Indy racecar for kids to climb into and have their photo taken in. There is also a set of bleachers where folks not riding can sit and wait for those riding to take their turn. There is no FastPass for this ride.

Line

The line for this ride starts under the archway detailing what the ride is. There are the standard turnstiles which eventually lead up to a bridge that will take you to one of two islands where you can get into the cars.

Riding the Ride

The ride is pretty simple. You get into a car (there are two seats, so adults with children won't have any problem here) and drive around the track. There is only one petal, which is the gas, and when you release the petal the car automatically brakes. Steering on these things leaves much to be desired, so don't expect to have a lot of control and expect a lot of bouncing around on the guide rail.

The track is a nice long one, so kids will enjoy it a lot. There is also a rule that states that you should not ram your vehicle into the car in front of you, despite the large bumpers on all of the cars. There are plenty of lookouts on the track, so this is not recommended at all.

It should be noted that at night, there are no headlights on the cars, so you are relying only on the ambient light provided by street lights and other lights in the area.

Exiting the Ride

You get out of the car at the same place where you get in. There is then a walkway over the track back to the bleacher area and out of the area. The exit is located right next to the entrance, so returning to a group is not a problem.

Opinion

I have never been a big fan of this ride, but I understand why it is there. Personally I feel it is a relatively boring ride that I don't really need to go on, but it can be fun with a group of people who want to race around a track.
