The label states this is from South Eastern Australia. There is a brief note on the back label stating:
Mattie says, "Ripper Shiraz! (Great)" This Shiraz delivers fresh blackberry flavors with a touch of caramel which is exactly what you would expect from Down Under. Pair this Shiraz with your favorite pastas or meats on the barbie.
From this label it is obvious that it was written by American marketers, as an Aussie marketer would have spelled "favorite" as "favourite".
Taste
A swish shows some amount of ribboning, which means a decent amount of alcohol. The bouquet has a hint of the blackberries that the label on the bottle mentions.
The initial taste is that of blackberries, but afterward there is really nothing. This is not really a dry wine, and has some sweetness to it, but the after effects are just... lacking.
