Entrance

The entrance to the Canada pavilion is through a mock up of a small villa, one which looks like something you would find in Newfoundland. Towards the back a mock up of the Canadian Rockies appears, with a waterfall off to the right as you wind your way down towards a 360 degree theater.

O Canada 360

This movie was produced in 1982, and is starting to show the wear on it. It opens up with a song about the Bluenose, a sailing vessel that the Canadians take great pride in.

The movie then takes you on a tour of many of the different provinces of Canada, including Newfoundland, Quebec, Ontario, and Victoria. Sweeping images of the Canadian Rockies as well as detailed views of some of the cathedrals in Quebec fill out the film.

Experiences

14 January 2007

I went and saw the movie again. One thing that struck me as very odd was their inclusion of a bald eagle during the section of the movie concerning the wildlife in Canada. This seemed very strange to me.

After the movie, I dropped by Le Cellier to make reservations, only to be told that they were completely booked, and that they were apparently booked solid for the next 100 days or so. The host at the door did give me a hint that I should certainly contact reservations that evening at my hotel and see if there were any cancellations. I later did this at Shades of Green, and a spot had opened up for lunch the next day, which I promptly took.
