Entrance

At the front of this movie attraction, you will find yourself transferred to a set that resembles something that you would have seen from one of the earlier Muppets movies, like Muppets take Manhattan. There is a large fountain out front where Miss Piggy rotates in the center dressed as the Statue of Liberty, and surrounding her are Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Animal, and the rats. You can also hear the muppets singing different songs as you walk through the courtyard.

The theatre itself is a brownstone affair, typical of downtown Manhattan. Once you walk inside you are subjected to the usual line, and then a staging area where there are monitors set in the ceiling for you to watch. A small introduction is given, where they tell you not to put on the 3-D glasses until after you have seated yourself in the auditorium. There are also props hung from the ceiling for you to admire, along with band equipment in different corners.

The Show

First of all, the audiotorium you get seated in is very well done. There are balconies and cupolas featured, and once the movie starts the band (of penguins) rises from the stage to play the soundtrack. The movie itself is a standard muppets episode minus the guest start. They take you on a tour of Muppet Labs where they tell you about their new inventions concerning 3-D technology. Fozzie Bear does his typical gag routine, adjusted for the 3-D medium. At one point in the show Sweetums comes out for some live-action performance goodness.

In the right cupola above the stage, Waldorf and Statler are sitting and making their usual comments about the show, which keeps the dull moments jumping.

The end of the show culminates in the muppets blowing up the theatre, which is how things tend to go with them. You are then escorted out of the theatre to the right where you deposit your 3-D glasses in bins.
