Entrance

At the entrance to the Sea, you can go in either via the gift store or via a ride. Note that the entrance through the gift store is somewhat obscure if this is the first time you have been there, and is very easy to miss as the pathways leading up to The Seas shunt you very well into the ride entrance.

The ride takes you on a small adventure with the cast of Finding Nemo under the sea, where you get to look at different thing from our oceans. Outside there are models of the cast from the movie, including in one area a bunch of the seagulls standing on rocks as water splashed around the rocks from time to time. If you wait around long enough you will hear the seagulls crying out "Mine! Mine!" like they did in the movie.

The Ride

The ride into the pavillion is in clamshell cars, each holding two people. The first room you enter when walking in has a bunch of sand dunes and stuff that gives you the impression that you are about to enter the ocean. The next room is under the ocean, perhaps ten or fifteen feet under water. There are boats in the overhead, and glass plates make the lighting in the room appear as if you are underwater. Some things to notice are the handrails throughout this area, which have been made up to look like they have been rusting underneath the water for a long time, and also the appearance of barnacles on the pilons sticking down into the water.

Getting onto the ride is your typical moving walkway approach, where you step on the moving walkway, get into the cars, sit down, and they then close up like a clamshell across the front. This is not really a safety bar, but more of a barricade... you are not going to get thrown around with this ride.

The ride itself takes you on a brief synopsis of the movie Finding Nemo. A good number of the characters from the movie are present. The most impressive thing occurs towards the end, where they project the main characters such as Nemo and Dory into actual tanks of sea life, where real fish and other aquatic animals (such as dolphins) are swimming. Pay attention for the things that Peach (the starfish) says just before you make the turn for the ride exit. The ride then exits and you get out, to go into the Seas pavilion proper.

Pavillion Attractions

Inside the pavillion are learning centers where you can learn about different aquatic creatures. There are also very large underwater viewing areas where you can watch dolphins and other large fish swimming around. From some of the upper observation decks you can see where the projections are being made for the ride into the water. There is also a second tank where they keep a couple of manatees that you can watch.

There are also live feedings of the fish at scheduled times. Just look around for signs stating when these feedings are.

There used to be a small creatures area that people could look at some of the smaller sea creatures up close and personal, even having the ability in some cases to touch them. That area has now been replaced with an area where you can look at the smaller creatures of the sea, but the petting area has been closed down for good, it seems.

The star attraction for this pavillion, of course, is a live show called Turtle Talk with Crush. Be aware that they have moved this attraction to a different location that handles crowd control a lot better.

Exit

The exit is through the gift shop. You can also enter the pavillion through the gift shop if you do not want to go on the ride. The sliding glass doors on the outside of the gift shop have a coating on them that make it look as if there are bubbles in them.
